And yet much of the industry’s governance response has been static: pitch decks that age with the quarter, governance toolkits sold as one-time products, books that begin to yellow the moment they leave the press.
These efforts matter. They spark conversation, raise awareness, and offer reference points. But they rarely feel sufficient. A static framework struggles to prepare leaders for a shifting landscape. A book on AI governance written in 2025 may run up against unimagined dilemmas in 2026. A corporate training program cannot anticipate the choices required just a few months later.
We often treat governance, ethics, and strategy as if they were finished deliverables, when in practice they work better as living systems.
Grounding in Motion
What AI governance may require is not only rules but reasoning. Not only frameworks but methods of thinking that can flex as conditions change.
